HONNE Marks 10 Years with Intimate Singapore Concerts

London electronic duo HONNE is marking a decade of music with three stripped-back performances at Capitol Theatre from Aug. 4 to 6, bringing its 10-Year Anniversary Tour to one of Asia’s busiest live-entertainment destinations.

Formed in 2014, HONNE comprises singer-producer Andy Clutterbuck and producer James Hatcher. The British alt-pop act is known for its blend of synth-pop and electronic soul, and has built a strong following in Asia through songs from albums including Warm on a Cold Night and Love Me / Love Me Not.

The anniversary run follows HONNE’s appearance at the Padang Stage during the 2024 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. This week’s fully seated shows offer a smaller-scale setting, with the programme expected to revisit music from the duo’s first decade.

The concerts also add to Singapore’s expanding calendar of international live events. For HONNE, the Capitol Theatre engagement pairs an anniversary celebration with a venue designed for closer audience interaction. The touring lineup includes backing vocalist Naomi Scarlett, drummer Duayne Sanford and bassist Amadu Koroma.

Over the past decade, Singapore has evolved into a regional concert hub by combining world-class venues, efficient transportation, and a reputation for hosting high-quality international events. From intimate theatres to stadium-scale productions, the country offers promoters and artists a reliable ecosystem capable of delivering memorable experiences for audiences from across Southeast Asia.

As a result, concerts have become more than cultural events—they have become an increasingly important driver of tourism, hospitality, retail, and food and beverage businesses. The Monetary Authority of Singapore said major concerts boosted tourism activity in early 2024, with private-sector estimates putting related tourism receipts from Coldplay and Taylor Swift shows at S$350 million to S$450 million. The spending supported sectors including air transport, accommodation, arts and retail.

A key reason behind this success is the Singapore government’s strategic approach to the events industry. Through close collaboration with tourism agencies, venue operators, and event organizers, Singapore actively attracts major international concerts while ensuring visitors enjoy a seamless experience. Concertgoers often extend their stay to explore the city’s attractions, shop, dine, and visit local businesses, creating a multiplier effect across various sectors of the economy. This integrated approach positions entertainment not merely as leisure, but as an investment that generates economic value and strengthens Singapore’s global brand as a vibrant destination for culture and business.

HONNE’s anniversary concerts perfectly illustrate this broader vision. While fans gather to enjoy heartfelt performances and celebrate the duo’s musical journey, the concerts also contribute to a much larger ecosystem that benefits hotels, restaurants, retailers, and tourism operators.
